Jacob Shapiro

Coach Jake will be returning for his 5th year coaching for Main Beach Volleyball Club. After assistant and head coaching various age groups, he has settled on his favorite: the 12’s. Last year, Coach Jake led the 12 Premier team to a second place finish in the Gold division of the NCVA League.

Coach Jake grew up in Chicago, starting his volleyball career his freshman year of high school. He went on to be a 3 year Varsity starter and was Illinois First Team All-State twice and Second Team All-State once as a Middle Blocker. His club team qualified for the Open Division of Boy’s Junior National Championships every year and finished 10th in the nation his 18’s year.

Coach Jake was recruited to play at UC Santa Cruz and as a freshman starter, helped lead the team to the school’s first ever National Championship appearance. Since finishing his indoor career, Coach Jake has transitioned to the beach and is actively working to qualify for the AVP Tour.
